Attitude of Environmental Health Students Toward their Discipline and Future Career in Guilan University of Medical Sciences

  Introduction: Students ' attitudes to Discipline and Future Career is one of the factors that affect the quality of educational services. Understanding the effective factors on students attitude is very important to motivate them and training proficient and competent personnels. This study was performed with the aim of determining Environmental Health Students Attitude toward their Discipline and Future Career in Guilan University of Medical Sciences in the fall of 2012.

  Methods : This cross -sectional, descriptive study was undertaken in 2012. Samples were included 105 environmental Health students of Guilan University of Medical Sciences chosen by Census . Data was collected by using a questionnaire containing 20 questions and analysed by spss software and descriptive statistical parameters.

  Results: Mean and Standard Deviation scores of Students ' attitudes toward their Discipline and Future Career in Guilan University of Medical Sciences were 38.5 and 6.7 respectively. Minimum and maximum scores of Students ' attitudes to Discipline and Future Career were determind 16and5.

  Conclusion: In order to promoting community health, reviewing course study and reforming educational structure based on students’ personal needs as well as recognition of the role of envionmental health is necessary.
