Introduction: Enhancing nursing education quality is crucial for improving healthcare services. Critical care nursing is essential for managing critically ill patients. Master of Critical Care Nursing Curriculum in Iran and Dublin university was designed for training expert nurses in this regards. This study compares the Master of Critical Care Nursing Curriculum in Iran and University College Dublin, Ireland, to identify strengths and weaknesses and suggest improvements.
Methods: A comparative study was conducted in 2025 using Bereday's four steps model to describe, interpret, juxtapose, and compare the education patterns based on Master of Critical Care Nursing Curriculum in Iran and University College Dublin.
Results: Based on the findings obtained, the University College Dublin curriculum emphasizes research and innovation, offering international work and research opportunities in international environments. On the other hand, the Iranian program focuses on theoretical aspects but lacks clinical emphasis.
Conclusion: Although the Iranian curriculum has some strengths, several improvements should be made regarding such as distance learning, evidence-based practice, entrance interviews,using modern technologies and advanced simulations also increased focus on research and innovation.
