Introduction: Academic Value co-creation plays a pivotal role in expanding activities and rendering better services at universities. In this regard, knowledge management is quite an influential factor. Accordingly, the current study aimed to investigate the role of various dimensions of knowledge management in value co-creation by students of Gonabad University of Medical Sciences, Gonabad, Iran.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional analytical study. statistical population included 1615 students of Gonabad University of Medial Sciences in the academic year 2023-24. The statistical sample was selected using the proportionate stratified sampling technique, with the sample size totaling 325 students based on Cochran's formula. The data were collected using a questionnaire devised based on a study conducted by Dziewanowska on the value co-creation styles in higher education, as well as a questionnaire on knowledge management (Shafait et al.). For data analysis, the Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression were utilized, applying the IBM SPSS Statistics software (Version 22).
Results: Results indicated a positively significant relationship between knowledge management and academic value co-creation (r=0.58, P=0.002). The results of the multiple linear regression analysis for the prediction of value co-creation through knowledge management at universities indicated that 37.5% of the variance of academic value co-creation by students is explained via the different dimensions of knowledge management including: knowledge creation, knowledge maintenance, and knowledge application within the organization.
Conclusion: According to the findings of the present study, managers and policy makers are suggested to plan by focusing on the dimensions of knowledge management (knowledge creation, knowledge storage, and knowledge application) to create academic value co-creation.
