مقدمه: ازآنجاکه برنامه درسی آموزشی یکی از زمینه‌های اصلی آموزش و پرورش است، لازم است در طراحی، اجرا و ارزیابی فعالیت‌های آن از مطلوب‌ترین شیوه‌ها استفاده شود. یکی از روش‌ها برای حفظ و ارتقای کیفیت آموزش همسو با رشد جهانی، ارزشیابی مستمر آموزش و ارکان وابسته به آن است. ازاین‌رو، به تبیین تجارب اعضای هیئت علمی دانشکده دندانپزشکی یزد نسبت به برنامه درسی دندانپزشکی عمومی و نحوه اجرای آن پرداختیم.
روش‌ها: در این مطالعه کیفی داده‌ها به‌وسیله مصاحبه‌های نیمه‌ساختارمند از 18 نفر از اعضای هیئت علمی شامل 10 زن و 8 مرد به‌صورت حضوری جمع‌آوری شدند. مصاحبه‌ها پس از ضبط به‌صورت متن برگردانده شدند. جملات و بیانات مرتبط با هدف مطالعه از متن مصاحبه‌ها استخراج و طبقه‌بندی و تحلیل داده‌ها به روش تحلیل مضمون انجام شد.
یافته‌ها: با تحلیل مضمون داده‌ها، مضامین استخراج شده شامل جامع بودن برنامه درسی، توجه به نیازسنجی و اضافه شدن دروس جدید، زمان‌بندی نامناسب، عدم انعطاف‌پذیری و عدم اجرای کامل برنامه درسی به دلایلی ازجمله فراهم نبودن امکانات و فضای آموزشی بود.
نتیجه‌گیری: ضمن تأثیرات مثبتی که بازنگری‌های برنامه درسی تاکنون ایجاد کرده است، چالش‌های قابل‌توجهی نیز همچنان وجود دارد و به نظر می‌رسد برای ارتقای آموزش دانشجویان دوره دکترای عمومی دندانپزشکی بهتر است نقاط قوّت و ضعف برنامه درسی کنونی شناسایی شود. سپس با فراهم‌سازی زیرساخت‌های اجرایی، فضای آموزشی، امکانات و نیروی انسانی متخصّص، بازنگری‌های آتی برنامه درسی درجهت حفظ و تقویت نقاط قوّت و برطرف کردن نقاط ضعف صورت گیرد.
