The purpose of this research is to  investigate the effectiveness of PBL in medical sciences. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest design by control group. statistical population included 40 undergraduate students in Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (college of Management and Information) in course of Human Resources Development that were selected as random sampling method and divided into two groups of (Control group=19, and Experimental group=21). A man-made questionnaire was used for evaluating academic performance. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (Mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (ANCOVA) through SPSS . Results: result showed that problem solving learning is effective on student's academic performance(p<0.01).The comparison of pretest and posttest showed that student's academic performance in PBL group Increased Meaningfully. Although, in pretest the Mean of control and experimental groups had no difference, in posttest the mean of  experimental group and control group was 16.32 and 13.49 respectively that show PBL has meaningful effect on students academic performance. Conclusion: since problem solving learning has a positive effect on student's performance, it is recommended medical sciences teachers  try to use of this teaching approach and consider as priority in universities of medical sciences.

Method: In this study, implementation of two-step learning and satisfaction from Kirkpatrick's model in the form of a comparative descriptive design was used for evaluating. All 30 Students (term7) from one of the top ranking nursing and midwifery school were selected as experimental group and 31 students (term7)  from other nursing school with no internship program as control group. In order to evaluating the learning level of students intership skills and the response level of learners satisfactions to this training, a man- made questionnaire by considering the  Kirkpatrick's evaluation model was used.Validity was confirmed by content and face validity and reliability by Cronbach's alpha as well. Data were analyzed by independent t-test, pair t- test , Two-way ANOVA test and Spss software. Results: findings  showed the mean scores of technical skills and communication skills before and after training in both control and experimental groups was statistically significant (p<0.05). also , there was  no significant differences between the mean change in scores of general and technical skills before and after the internship in the two groups (p<0.05). Conclusion: Internship in the field has been developed with the goal of increasing students' independence and professional confidence. Assessment of learning outcomes during residency is done by internal evaluation and annual in-training exams and in the end of residency course by the pre-board qualifying and board certification exams. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between residents’ success on the certifying examinations and results of internal evaluation and in-training exam in different periods in Guilan University of Medical Sciences. Methods: In this retrospective study, data of residents who participated in the certifying examinations in the years 2005-2013 were studied. Three evolutions in evaluation of residents occurred in this span. The first period in the years 2005-2007 which internal evaluation is added, the second period in the years of 2008 – 2010 which new methods of evaluation is added to internal evaluation and the third period during the years of 2011-2013 which the Pre-board exam was decentralized and awarded to the type 1 universities. In this study, in first period 188 residents, in second period 278 residents and in third priod 218 residents were evaluated respectively.  time pass rate was considered, and its relationship between these outcomes and standard scores of internal evaluation and in-training exams by t-test (or Mann Whitney U test in variables with non-normal distribution) and χ2 was determined. Also logistic regression analysis and cluster analysis for grouping residents in three periods were used. The statistical analysis has been done by SPSS and the significant level in the study was considered 0.05. Results: totally, among 680 students, 366 of them were male and 314 subjects were female. In general, 64.2%  of male residents and 74.1%  of female residents passed the board exam. There was no significant difference in the success rate of male or female participants in the three periods. In first period, there was only difference between scores of internal evaluation in successful and unsuccessful residents groups (P>0.02). In second period, there was significant differences in scores of in-training exams in successful and unsuccessful residents (P<0.001). In third period, there was no significant differences between in-training exams of successful and unsuccessful residents .based on  the result of logistic regression analysis, there was only significant differences, in first priod, between standardized score of internal evaluation in senior residents, and in second period, there is significant relationship between standardized score of in-training exam and success on the certifying examination among senior and freshman residents and finally in third period, there was no relationship between standardized score of internal evaluation and in-training exam with success on the certifying examination. Conclusion: The results showed a weak relationship between scores of internal evaluation and in-training exam with success rate of residents in the third period. The flipped classroom model is one of the new popular educational method. The aim of the present study was to survey the views and experiences of nursing students in using the flipped classroom Method: This one group quasi-experimental study was done on 43 nursing students who were selected by census method in Islamic Azad University-Rasht branch in 1395. Before the class, the experimental group viewed every sessions of the electronic content, studied the book and prepared for the classroom. In the class they responded the quiz questions, discussed about their responses and involved in small groups about clinical scenarios. At the end of the course the students responded to a questionnaire including 20 items about the views and experience of the students in using the flipped classroom. Descriptive and analytic statistics consisting pearson correlation, independent t test and one way ANOVA were used for analyzing data. Results: Findings showed that students had a positive experience of using flipped classroom. Majority of students (79.1%) prefer flipped classroom to traditional one that the most of class time were devoted to teachers lecture.The Mean of the scores of the students’ views was 26.09±2.95. There is not any statistical significant relations between demographic data and students views, But there is a significant strong positive correlation between students’ views and the average scores(r=.88, P=.0.001). Conclusion: students had positive views and experiences about using the flipped classroom. The aim of the present study is to examine the predictive role of self-efficacy and meta-cognitive on Tendency to critical thinking dispositions in students of Lorestan University of medical Sciences. Methods: This is a descriptive- analytic correlational study. The study population included all Midwifery, Nursing, Health, and Paramedical students of Lorestan University of Medical Sciences in 2014-15. sample size consist of 220 individuals (%60.9 female and %39/1 man), who were selected based on Krejcie and Morgan table through random cluster sampling.  For gathering data instruments of self-efficacy sheerer et al, Meta-cognitive Schraw & Dennison, and critical thinking dispositions Ricketts questionnaires were used. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation, multiple regression analysis and T independents through SPSS. Results: The findings showed there is a positive and significant  correlation among self-efficacy (r=0.390, p<0.001), meta-cognitive (r=0.468, p<0.01) and critical thinking dispositions (P<0.001) and the findings of multiple regression analysis and stepwise showed that self-efficacy (β=0.468, p<0.001) and meta-cognitive (β=0.160, p<0.05) are significant predictors of critical thinking  in students. The independent differnces t-test showed that there was a significant between male and female students in critical thinking dispositions variables,  so that  tendency to critical thinking dispositions (M=104.74), self-efficacy (M=56.37) and meta- cognition (M=84.21) among female was more than in men considering tendency to critical thinking dispositions (M=92.57), self-efficacy (M=49.23) and meta- cognition(M=77.17) , (p<0.001). Conclusion:regarding The important role of self-efficacy and meta- cognition in predicting students critical thinking dispositions, University programs should be organized in such a way that the educational programs and curriculum revision comes into action And active teaching methods that, involved students in the issue and problem solving should be used instead of storing data and scientific facts. 444 Special Assessment of Dental Environment Stress and Related Factors in Dental Students Rabiei M Safarpour M Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine dept, School of Dentistry, Guilan University of Medical Sciences, Iran Dental Faculty, Guilan University of Medical,Rasht, Iran 1 3 2017 9 1 57 46 21 09 2016 16 07 2017 Introduction: Dentistry has been widely acknowledged as being associated with high levels of stress. This stress originates in the process of dental education. If psychological stressors become chronic and remain untreated, they cause in psychological and physical diseases, which is harmful for educational system. The aim of this study was to assess dental environment stress (DES) in students of the faculties of dentistry of Guilan University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This cross sectional study was carried out by recruited 167 dental students (74 males and 93 females) Rasht Dentistry and International branch faculty of Guilan University) 2015-2016 .( Data were collected using the Dental Environment stress Questionnaire (consist of 32 items in 6 scales) and demographic questions. Data were analyzed in SPSS software using independent t-test and ANOVA. Results: the mean age of students was 23.7±2.4 years. Mean score of stress was 2.27±0.50 (out of 4). among stressful fields, the highest and lowest mean related to Treatment of patients (2.41±0.64) and beliefs respectively. From 32 statements, the highest stress mean was full fear of examinations and grades (2.95± 0.917). Students of fifth academic year also female students  showed the highest level of stress  through logistic regression multiple analysis (Odds Ratio=2.3, 95%CI OR: 1.1-4.84). Students living with parents during term time had significantly higher total stress scores than other  students (Odds Ratio=2.67, 95% CI OR: 1.1-6.4). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, high levels of stress as well as its harmfulness among dental students, greater attentions must be given to this issue by the authorities. Self-efficacy and Academic motivation helps them to use better the academic environment. The aim of this research was to investigate the effects of training success strategies training on self-efficacy and academic motivation in First-year students of Medical Sciences. Methods: This experimental study was designed as pre- posttest with a control group model which was conducted in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 2015-2016. Statistical sample was 24 freshmen students that were selected using random cluster sampling and were divided into experimental and control groups. The intervention was planned for 10 sessions (70 minutes each session). During the research phase, the experimental group received a training package about strategies for university success while the control group did not. The tools of research were Sherer's self-efficacy and Vallerend's academic motivation questionnaires that twice as pretest and post test were conducted for the participants in both groups. Data were analyzed using SPSS and MANCOVA. Results: The results showed that success strategies training  had a significant effect on self-efficacy and academic motivation of students; So that  after intervention the mean score of experimental increased significantly in two variables in comparison to control group. Partial eta squared showed this effect on self-efficacy 53% (F=22/43, P<0/01)  and motivation 61%(F=30/21, P<0/01). Methods: This is a cross-sectional descriptive-explanatory study which has been conducted by reviewing the evidences and documents related to the courses and departments, evaluating performance report, observing and reporting educational directors and experts panels in the vice chancellor for education of the university. Results: Babol University of Medical Sciences has the capability of scientific authority, including the development in cancer information, implementation of family medicine, infant care, genetic diagnosis, cardiac surgery and pediatric cardiac interventions, organ transplant (kidney and bone marrow). Conclusion: Scientific authority aspects should be explained as well as adopting strategic and operational plans and mobilizing resources and facilities by university.
