Then, physiology of endocrine system was taught to both groups during two semesters, control group was taught through traditional method and the other through combination of CBL and lecture. The headings of the lesson were the same for the two groups. Students were evaluated through post-test at the end of the semester. Data was analyzed by SPSS software using independent T-test.   Results: Although there was no significant difference between the score of final exam between two groups, CBL group students were more satisfied and showed higher motivation compared to the traditional group.   Conclusion: This study showed that using of CBL methods in teaching endocrine physislogy can increase satisfaction and interest in medical students. Moreover, this method motivates students to study more by encouraging them into more group interaction.}, Keywords = {Teaching, Lecture, Physiology, Medical education}, volume = {4}, Number = {1}, pages = {1-8}, publisher = {Guilan University of Medical Sciences}, doi = {10.18869/acadpub.rme.4.1.1}, url = {http://rme.gums.ac.ir/article-1-27-en.html}, eprint = {http://rme.gums.ac.ir/article-1-27-en.pdf}, journal = {Research in Medical Education}, issn = {2008-952X}, eissn = {2008-7284}, year = {2012} } @article{ author = {Pakniat, H and Movahed, F and Dabagh, T and Ghasemi, Z}, title = {The Effects of Clinical Skills Training on Medical Trainees Performances in Gynecology Ward of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences}, abstract ={  Introduction : Nowadays, clinical skill training to the medical students has important role and Clinical skill center can link theorical and practical skills together. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of clinical skills training on quality of performance of medical trainees in gynecology ward of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences.   Methods : This quasi-experimental study has been done on 40 trainees introduced to the gynecology ward skill center of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences in 2011. First, a checklist including 10 points of skill learning, prepared and approved by the gynecology department. Data were analysed by descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and inferential (paired t-test) statistics and SPSS software.   Results : There was a significant difference between trainees performances before and after clinical skill training (p<0.05).The highest mean scores before training were pop smear sampling, IUD application, gynecological examination with speculum and the lowest, due to leopold maneuver, bimanual examination and third stage management of labor. After skill training, the highest mean scores were due to IUD application, pop smear sampling and the lowest due to leopold maneuver, pelvic examination. Before training the scores were not satisfactory in none of the skills. This study surveys these barriers from viewpoint of clinical nurses.   Methods: This descriptive study was carried out on 313 nurses of three hospitals of Babol university of Medical sciences in 2011. The data collecting tools was a questionnaire including two sections. First section consists of demographic data and professional information of subjects, and the other one was Funks´ barriers scale including 31 items that were ranking according five points likert scale. All statistical analyses (Frequency, Percentage and Factor analysis) were performed with SPSS.   Results: Factor analysis identified 4 dimensions that called Report, Research, Nurse, Organization. The first three important barriers were" There is insufficient time on the job to implement new ideas", Research reports/articles are not published fast enough”, and “Physicians will not cooperate with implementation”, each replaced in one dimension separately. Four barriers consist of the nurse is uncertain whether to believe the results of the research", the conclusions drawn from the research are not justified”, “The literature reports conflicting results” and "Research reports/articles are written in English" did not replace in any dimensions.   Conclusion: The important finding of this study was that the subjects relatively identified barriers in all of dimensions. Although some stress is good, too much can result in disrupting learning process. This study aims to investigate the kind and intensity of the stressors nursing clinical practices from viewpoint of nursing students in Qazvin nursing school.   Methods: In a descriptive cross-sectional study 93 nursing students participated. They had completed a course of clerkship and were chosen by stratified random in the second half of 2007-2008. A research – made questionnaire which its validity and reliability was confirmed through content validity and test-retest, respectively, was used. Data was analyzed by T-Test through SPSS.   Results : This study showed that the stress of clinical practices among the students is in moderate level (the mean and standard deviation was (1.86 0.7) severe stress had been reported in second year students. From students viewpoints, personal factors including fear of doing mistake and failure and Tutor-related factors are most stressful factors respectively. Based on Likert Scale the mean of stress score were as follow: environmental factors (1.68 0.7), patient care- related factors (1.75 0.7), Tutor related factors (2.1 0.9), clinical staff-related factors (1.91 0.9) and personal factors (2.17 0.9).   Conclusion: Regarding to the most stressful factors such as fear of doing mistake and failure in nursing, Tutor should teach nursing students about concept of stress and how to control and cope with stressful situation in clinical environment before attending in clinical practices as well.
